Combat Improvements and Dialogue System
This is a big one
Finally there is more to do than just brawling and brawling is now more than just mindlessly mashing shift. This is the first update where the potential for this project really shines through. There might not be a more substantial update that this, as far as introducing crucial mechanics goes.
New Features -
Combat Mechanics
There are now impact animations for both the combat mode and the relaxed mode. Characters get pushed back slightly when they're hit. The other kangaroo is better at fighting. There is now a strategy and if you don't employ it you'll die more times than not. I'd still like to add more strategies and things to do in combat however at the moment it won't be a major part of the gameplay.
Dialogue
You can now talk! This WILL be a major part of the gameplay. The dialogue works dynamically with the other systems. For instance; you can't talk with someone who is fighting you or dead and if you start fighting them their dialogue will disappear. I implemented it in such a way that it shouldn't need much modification to get it working for more characters and different events. Most of the work I have to do for the dialogue will be additive, so I won't have to change much. The dialogue system, in it's most basic form, has been completed in almost a day's work. Now I just can't wait to start writing.
